Activity options for little travellers in Lauterbrunnen
A couple is visiting Lauterbrunnen with their two kids, aged 8 and 3, in early August and will have four full days to explore. They have planned activities for three days and are looking for suggestions for the fourth day. The family aims to maximize their experience using the Jungfrau Travel Pass for trains and cable cars throughout their trip.
- Consider a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Brienz while visiting Giessbach and the waterfalls.
- Take the funicular to Harder Kulm for stunning views of Interlaken, which includes a restaurant and playground.
- Make sure to explore family-friendly activities, like playgrounds and scenic walks, during your travels.

Hi! We’re heading to Lauterbrunnen in early August and will have 4 full days in the region. It’s my husband and I and our 2 kids who will be 8 and 3. I have a rough plan for 3 of the days and would love ideas for the 4th day (or ideas to add on to the other days if you think it’s doable).
Day 1. Grindelwald First – Cliff walk and view point. Bachalpsee Lake walk and picnic. Bort playground. Trotti bike/gondola down to Grindelwald. Playground in Grindelwald.
Day 2. Mannlichen playground. Liesolette trail down to Holenstein. Play at Holenstein (treetop walk and slide). Cable car back up and then down to Wengen for marble run.
Day 3. Murren – allbendhubel playground. Flower trail back down to Murren. Cable car to Gimmelwald (for walk around and pizza). Back to Lauterbrunnen for bike ride to Staubbach falls.
Ideas greatly welcome! We will have our campervan but planning on getting the Jungfrau travel pass and using the trains/cable cars as much as possible.
