    • How much time shall I account for Immigration check at Basel ?
    • Shall I make a pre-reservation for train from Basel to Lucerne (considering above time), or I need not do that ? Will I be easily able to get a train ticket from Basel to Lucernce once my immigration at Basel is Done ?

    Thanks

    Hi Arvind

There is no immigration check between Paris and Basel. They both fall within Schengen zone.

So not need to allocate any time for immigration.

    Hi Arvind,

If you’re travelling from France into Switzerland, there will be no immigration check at the border. However custom and police check may be carried out during border crossing on board the train.

You can buy your a point-to-point ticket from Basel to Lucerne in advance here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/switzerland. A single regular ticket is usually valid for up to a day so if you missed a connection you can always take the next one. Direct trains from Basel to Lucerne leave every hour. You can check train schedules here: http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna
