Does the Peak2Peak Ticket cover the train from Gornergrat to Zermatt?
A traveler named Cosmo2024 is spending a free day in Zermatt and plans to visit the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Gornergrat using the Peak2Peak ticket. They want to confirm whether the Peak2Peak ticket includes a direct train ride from Gornergrat back to Zermatt or if they need to transfer at Riffelberg.
- The Peak2Peak ticket allows travel to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, then descending via Furi and Riffelberg before reaching Gornergrat.
- You can return to Zermatt directly from Gornergrat on the same cogwheel train without needing to transfer.
- The route can be done in reverse order if desired, but any route changes may incur extra charges.

Hello,
I have a free day in Zermatt and I’m planning to visit both Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Gornergrat with Peak2Peak, since it seems that is the best option money wise.
Here’s my plan:
- Zermatt – Matterhorn Glacier Paradise
- Matterhorn Glacier Paradise – Furi
- Furi – Riffelberg
- Riffelberg – Gornergrat
- Gornergrat – Zermatt
I will hop on hop off in the station for some sightseeing and then continuing the journey.
My question is this, I saw on the website that the Peak2Peak is available on a fixed route, does that include the full train trip from Gornergrat directly to Zermatt? Or do I have to get off the train at Riffelberg and get on the cable car to Furi and then to Zermatt?
Thank you!
