Hi Izzati,
Welcome to MySwissAlps.
You can book the SBB luggage delivery service station-to-station online and drop off your bags on the selected during regular business hours. You can pick up the bags 2 days later at your destination station.
For further information please have a look at our guide here: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel/public-transport/luggage/ (scroll down to Other Websites of Interest for links to the SBB luggage delivery service.
Hope this helps.

Anna

Thank you Anna for your reply. I go through the SBB website with the link you provided. It is stated that I need to drop off my luggage before 7.00pm for it to be delivered after 3 days. If I cannot make it to before 7.00pm, can I still drop my luggage? Will the delivery day extend 1 more day?

Hi Izzati,
I believe the reason you are getting three days is because you are arriving so late in the afternoon. There is no way for you to clear customs and passport control, collect your luggage, and get to the airports’ SBB office before 1900 hrs if you’re arriving at 1845 hrs. Unless things have changed since this past Sept/Oct, I would suggest dragging the bag (s) on the first train to Lucerne. Early the next morning, send them/it to Zermatt. (And then you’re free to roam around). On the second day in Zermatt, send to Interlaken (or Grindelwald, wherever you’re staying). This gives you the freedom of traveling unincumbered and the ability to not have luggage in tow, should you want to do so. It costs CHF 12.00 per bag to do so. In Lucerne, the SBB office is on the upper level. Upon entry, there should he an attendant to ask what your needs are. They’ll issue you a ticket, and you’ll go all the way to the left to wait for your number to be called. In my experience, it hasn’t taken long to be called. You can also choose to reverse directions as well. Lucerne, being the closest from the airport. In Zermatt, the luggage pick up is along platform 5 about halfway down.
I would also suggest buying the Swiss Travel Pass for 8 days (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass/). I hope this helps answer a few questions for you. Enjoy your trip.

Thank you for your suggestion. My travel schedule is;
1. 3D2N at Lucerne
2. 5D4N at Grindelwald
3. 3D2N at Zermatt
4. 2D1N at Zurich
I will bring the luggage to lucerne and transfer it to Grindelwald the next morning as per your suggestion. And before leaving for Zermatt, I will transfer my luggage to Zurich so that less hassle during travel to Zermatt.
I think this works best for my situation. Thank you for answering my question.

Hi Izzati,
Again, to be certain, when sending to Zurich from Grindelwald, be sure to ask the closing times (and opening times) in Zurich, as well as how many days before extra charges will kick in. If things haven’t (fee’s) changed since last October, you should be fine. When there last October, I spent my last three days in Lugano and stored my bag at the Zurich train station. It, too, was CHF 12.00 per day, but, again, well worth it, as I stopped in Locarno and Bellinzona along the way, which wouldn’t have happened with baggage/luggage in tow. Again, have a great trip.
