Sightseeing at Lucerne
Saroy is planning a 2-day visit to Lucerne from August 12th to 14th, arriving after a Rhine cruise in Basel. They want to know if they have enough time to visit Mt. Rigi upon arrival and how to plan their trip to Mt. Titlis the next day, including sightseeing in Lucerne afterward.
- You can travel to Mt. Rigi for free with your Swiss Saver Pass after arriving in Lucerne.
- To visit Mt. Titlis, leave by 8:30 AM; you'll have time for sightseeing in Lucerne afterwards if you stay flexible and manage your time well.

Hi,
I am planning to visit Lucerne for 2 days from 12th – 14th aug. I am coming after a Rhine cruise and shall be etching Basel on 12th morning.
Please help me out with my following queries :
A. I intend to buy a 8 day Swiss saver pass at Basel and then travel to Lucerne. I am likely to reach Basel by 8 am. Do you think I will have enough time in hand to make a trip to Mt Rigi after reaching Lucerne, weather permitting. Is the boat ride to Vitznau going to be free?
B. I plan to visit Mt Titlis the next day. If I leave at 0830 am by when can I reasonably expect to be back. Do I have enough time time to do some sightseeing afterwards, such as the Chapel Bridge and Lion Monument.
Eagerly expecting your expert advice so that I can plan my trip accordingly
Regards
Saroy
