Summer sledging and skiing at Jungfraujoch

Short summary – read this first

Ashish is planning a trip to Switzerland and wants advice on booking tickets for sledging, skiing, or snowboarding in August. He's unsure about where to start and if any trains are needed for these activities. The responses clarify that summer is not ideal for these sports in most areas, but options like Jungfraujoch and Klein Matterhorn are available.

Key takeaways:
  • Check out the Snow Fun Park at Jungfraujoch for summer activities.
  • Consider visiting Klein Matterhorn near Zermatt for summer skiing.
  • Explore Titlis for sledging and snowtubing options.
  • For any activities, book tickets at the locations as they have clear signs for guidance.

    Hi,

Can someone please advise how to book tickets for sledging, skiing or snowboarding and from where I need to start and end? Do I need to connect through any train for start and end? Is this possible in August?

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Ashish

    Dear Ashish,

I may be wrong, but I am afraid nothing of that sort can be done in the Jungfrau region in August. It is summer here, you know. Some skiing can be done at Klein Matterhorn in the summer, but that would be in another region.

    Hi Ashish!

Yes, there’s a Snow Fun Park in summer up at Jungfraujoch (not “Jungfurauch” as in your original topic title ;-)), mentioned under “Activities at the Jungfraujoch” at http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfraujoch. At that same page, under “More on other websites”, you’ll find a link with more information. You can get your tickets at the top, there will be signs guiding you to the right place.

As for Snowman’s and Slowpoke’s suggestions: summer skiing is possible at Klein Matterhorn near Zermatt too: http://www.myswissalps.com/kl einmatterhorn. Titlis offers the Glacier Park with sledging and snowtubing: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti tlis.
