Glacier tours in July near Interlaken

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning a trip to Switzerland in July, staying in Interlaken, and wants to explore nearby glaciers. They seek recommendations for mild hikes or locations where they can closely experience the glaciers, as well as concerns about snow prevalence in the summer.

Key takeaways:
  • Visit the Aletsch Glacier, which is accessible and offers walking tours from the Bettmeralp side.
  • Check out Titlis and Glacier 3000 for more options, as well as the Rhone Glacier ice grotto.
  • Expect reduced snow coverage in July, but some glaciers like Klein Matterhorn remain open for activities year-round.

I’ll be visiting Switzerland in July and would like to visit some glaciers. I will be staying in Interlaken, so please suggest some glaciers which are near this area. Listing few questions I have for the same.

1..On which glacier can I hike – a mild to moderate hike of maximum 1 hour total and which can be done without any hiking gears or equipment?

2..If not, suggest a glacier where I can hike along or can have a closer look? May be where I can feel/touch the glacier

3..I’ll be visiting Joungfraujoch and know that Alptech glacier can be reached from here. But seems like it can be hiked only by taking guided tour. Is there any other way to enjoy this Glacier?

4..Will there be enough snow in July. I saw in some photos that during summer, snow had melted and there were rivers n puddles of water making it difficult to walk on glacier
