Sunnegga-Blauherd ticket valid for multiple rides?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Embarassed is planning a trip from Sunnegga to Blauhard and is unsure if their return ticket covers their mountain cart ride back to Sunnegga after they reach Blauhard. They also mention having a separate ticket for the Jungfrau area without issues there.

Key takeaways:
  • A return ticket for the mountain cart can only be used once, so you'll need to plan accordingly.
  • You can leave your backpacks at the Sunnegga station if you want to avoid backtracking.
  • It is possible to buy a single ticket from Sunnegga to Zermatt either online or at the station.

Embarassed I should know this by now. But if we buy a return ticket from Sunnegga to Blauhard and decide to take the mountain carts down to Sunnegga from Blauhard, is the return trip to Blauhard covered by our ticket so we can get back to pick up our backpacks? Don’t see how it would not. Not concerned about this issue in Jungfrau since we’ll have the BO pass there.

I think the ticket is one time use? Not like Bernese Obland pass or jungfrau pass which have unlimited access!

by the way I do have a question that when I buy one way ticket to blauherd and then hike down to Sunnegga , can I buy one way ticket from Sunnegga down to zermatt ? Or I might have to hike all the way down to zermatt ? ( och 🥹)

    thanks

    Hi Plymouthgus,

A return ticket can only be used once. You can take multiple rides on the mountain cart and the price includes the gondola lift. If you are riding the mountain cart just once and want to avoid backtracking, you can leave your backpacks at the Sunnegga station.

    Hi fionatravel,

Yes, it is possible to purchase a single ticket from Sunnegga to Zermatt. You can purchase the ticket online or directly from the ticket machine or counter.
