Hi JeremySimons,
Welcome to MySwissAlps!
You can certainly buy the Swiss Half Fare Cards together. Children aged between 6 and 15 at the time of travel don’t need a travel pass if they are travelling with adults. You just need the Swiss Family Card, which will allow them to travel with you for free. For information about buying the Swiss Half Fare Cards online, please visit this link: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisshalffarecard/price

Thank you Anna!
We are spending two nights in Switzerland next summer before boarding a cruise in Basel for the seven of us. It looks like four half-fare-cards, with family passes, plus day passes for each day we are in Switzerland will work best. We will fly to Zurich, take a train to Lauterbrunnen, spend a day in Lauterbrunnen going to Schilthorn and other places in the area, then take a train to Basel.
Thank you again, Jeremy

Hi Jeremy!
A combination of Swiss Half Fare Cards and other tickets/passes might certainly work. Are you referring to Saver Day Passes? If so, please find all information here: http://www.myswissalps.com/saverdaypass. Mind that they’re valid for specific dates only. And you’d best buy them in advance for the best rates: http://www.myswissalps.com/saverdaypass/price. Make sure to choose discounted rates when buying them. You’re entitled to that if you have a valid Swiss Half Fare Card while traveling.
For maximum flexibility, you can alternatively consider a 3-day Swiss Travel Pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass. The Swiss Family Card is valid with this pass too. This page explains how to calculate pass options: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses/practical/chooserailpass.
Have fun preparing for your trip!
