Swiss rail pass coverage and getting to Italy
Jason is visiting Switzerland in about three weeks and has planned a trip from Zurich to Lucerne, then to Interlaken, Zermatt, and finally to Florence, Italy. He wants to know how to plan the leg of his trip from Switzerland to Florence and if the Swiss Travel Pass will cover his travels.
- Check the italotreno.it site for train tickets in Italy, as they may offer discounts.
- Your Swiss Travel Pass is valid until Domodossola, so you’ll need a separate ticket for the journey to Florence.
- Use the Swiss Timetable to help plan your travels in Switzerland.

Hello All,
In about 3 weeks we will be coming to visit Switzerland. Our lodging accommodations are already taken care of and our itinerary is as follows. We will travel from Zurich to Lucerne, Lucerne to Interlaken, Interlaken to Zermatt and then Zermatt to Florence Italy. Its my understanding that the Swiss rail pass will take us everywhere we need to go in Switzerland but does anyone have any advice on how we should plan or trip to Florence? Thanks so much for your time.
Jason
