Swiss Travel Pass plus Top of Europe Pass too?
Hello, a couple is traveling from Basel to Grindelwald for four days in June before heading to Venice. They are looking for advice on whether to buy a Swiss Travel Pass or a Half Price Card to cover their trips within Switzerland and possibly the journey to Italy.
- Consider the Regional Pass Bernese Oberland for the best value as it covers many popular routes and excursions in the Jungfrau region.
- The Regional Pass also offers discounts on the train to Jungfraujoch and free rides on certain cable cars.
- For the trip to Venice, you'll just need to purchase a separate ticket from Brig after using the Regional Pass.

Hello,
My partner and I will be traveling from Basel to Grindelwald Sat June 11th. We will based in Grindelwald and depart 4 days later Weds June 15th to Venice, Italy.
We definitely want to visit Jungfraujoch as well as explore Wengen, Interlaken, First, Murren, Lauterbrunnen, and Kanderstag to hike Lake Oeschinensee.
We are trying to determine if the Swiss Travel Pass or Half Price Card makes sense to purchase to help cover the expense of Basel to Grindelwald and then some portion of our trip of Switzerland to Italy (not sure we can even get a discount for the Switzerland leg heading to Venice. It shows 3 changes from Grindelwald to Venice when attempting to examine fares.)?
Thank you for your insights!
