    Hi taurus0515,

    Thanks for sharing your plans.

We actually have a guide detailing visiting Switzerland throughout the course of the year, you’ll find our thoughts on October in the link below:

That’s right there will be some mountain transport closures.  If you are set on visiting some of your excursions listed I’d check the schedules on our respective web pages and research the “Operation dates, schedules and timetable” section to be sure.

For example here’s the one for Schilthorn:  https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/schilthorn/#dates and Lake Brienz here:  https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/boat-lake-brienz/#dates

It could be too, that some trails will start to be closed, mid October onwards. It really depends on the weather.  Perhaps take a look at the Swiss official hiking website for estimated openings and nearer the time you can also check with the local tourist office for exact trail status and condition.    The hiking link can be found here, scroll to “Other websites of interest” and key in your desired hikes:

As with any mountain excursion, this is weather dependent at any time of year.  Again, best to check weather forecasts/webcams nearer the time:

The GoldenPass will be doable for sure, just lock in your Prestige Class seat reservations if need be.

Definitely look into investing in a rail pass, given the amount of time and travel you are anticipating.  We have a handy guide to assist with choosing:

I hope this all helps. Feel free to reach out if you have additional questions.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
