Switzerland weather in September, clothing choice
A traveler named blondee is planning a 3-day trip to Zermatt in early September, followed by a ride on the Glacier Express to St. Moritz. They are asking for advice on the expected weather and clothing to pack for their visit, especially for the Gornergrat Railway.
- Dress in layers for fluctuating temperatures at high altitudes, as it can be much colder than in the valley.
- Bring a mix of clothing, including shorts and long pants, to adapt to different weather conditions.
- The Gornergrat offers beautiful views, and taking the time to enjoy the sunset there is highly recommended.
- Be aware that St. Moritz may be less crowded after the busy season ends, which can be a plus for exploration.

Early September 2019 we’ll be spending 3 days in Zermatt before taking the Glacier Express to St. Moritz. My question is what will the weather be like that time of year? One of the things we plan to do is take the Gornergrat Railway and the type of clothing needed at that time of year and trying NOT to overpack.
Thanks,
