Short summary – read this first

This trip involves traveling primarily by train, so they need some clarity on their pass options.

Key takeaways:
  • The Swiss Travel Pass covers the routes from Chamonix to Lauterbrunnen, Lauterbrunnen to Zermatt, and Zermatt to Geneva.
  • You don't need to make train reservations for these routes; you can just board the trains.

Hi, We are planning to travel from Charmonix to Lauterbrunnen, Lauterbrunnen to Zermatt and Zermatt to Geneva on 3 separate days during July. We were considering the Travel Flexible Pass and were just wondering if all of these destinations (we are planning on travelling by train) are included in the pass?

We have tried to look at the map but in a few places it gets a little cramped and couldn’t confirm that this is possible.

    Thanks 🙂

Hi KatherineM and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Yes, the Swiss Travel Pass covers those 3 routes you mentioned (Swiss Travel Pass & Swiss Travel Pass Flex have the same coverage areas). Going into the mountains from those towns is not usually fully covered.

You can zoom in on the PDF map and it should be clearer: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpassf lex/validity.

No reservations are needed on those routes (nor most in Switzerland)
