Hi Janbad and welcome to MySwissAlps!
There are not usually rail pass promotions based on the number of people purchasing but rather on where you are purchasing them from.
Read through Arno’s post here for a recent promotion (free extra day) for people from certain countries (including Canada). https://www.myswissalp s.com/forum/topic/extr a-travel-days-on-swiss-travel-pass-promotion

Hi Janbad,
You can keep an eye on http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/promotio ns; it always lists the current promotions.

Thank you for the information. The promotion mentioned is only good to June 30 unfortunately.

Thank you Arno, we will keep watching. Would you suggest if there isn’t a promotion to buy them in Canada or wait and buy in Switzerland? Is there any benefit either way?

Hi Janbad,
It would be much simpler and easier to buy the Swiss Travel Pass online (https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ price).
You can get it emailed to you for printing at home so you won’t have to wait in any office line up when you first get here (just hop on your train and go). You’ll also have an electronic back up in case you lose the first copy.

I’d do as Lucas recommends and buy online. You can save a few francs per pass depending on where you buy, and more importantly you’ll save quite a lot of time on arrival. Going to a ticket office with 9 people and 9 passports and waiting for the staff to type all your names and passport numbers is time consuming.
