Hi, I copied your question into a google search and got the following:

The average temperature in Lauterbrunnen in May for a typical day ranges from a high of 53°F (11°C) and a low of 36°F (2°C). Some would describe it as cold humid but cool. For comparison, the hottest month in Lauterbrunnen, July, has days with highs of 65°F (18°C) and lows of 49°F (9°C).

The best time to visit Lauterbrunnen is May-June due to the excellent all-round weather conditions, and it’s also not during the height of peak travel periods, so it’s not likely to be as busy.

January through June, September through December are months with snowfall. In May, in Lauterbrunnen, it is snowing for 5.8 days. Throughout May, 79mm (3.11″) of snow is accumulated.

…. And there are dozens more pages to read regarding your question.

    Hi J lewis222,

In the mountains you should expect colder weather and even snow over 1600-1800 m. The weather changes fast and oft in May, sometimes it is warm then it gets some rain and cold.

At http://www.myswissalps.com/weather you can read more about the weather. Please check this one too: http://www.myswissalps.com/besttimetovisit

I’m not sure any of this technical data from ‘Google’ is really realistic. With global warming, I think we can expect May to be generally pretty warm. I think the 18C quoted for Lauterbrunnen in July is a technical ‘average’ but my experience would suggest for example that daytime temperatures in Lauterbrunnen in July would be often way over 18C.

Mid May can be pretty warm at lower altitudes, but it could still be cool at higher altitudes
