Wengernalp train covered by Swiss Travel Pass?
Miggles is planning a day trip from Grindewald to Lauterbrunnen in late May and wants to know if the Wengenalp train is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass and if it's worth taking. They also have concerns about managing the easy Valley trail with their companion, as well as fitting in some time to explore Interlaken before heading back.
- The Wengenalp train is partially covered by the Swiss Travel Pass, but a discounted ticket will be needed for part of the route.
- The Valley trail in Lauterbrunnen is easy and offers beautiful scenery; just take it at your own pace.
- Consider taking a bus back after your walk to see Trümmelbach Falls if time allows.
- Plan your travel with the SBB timetable for a smooth journey.
- You can explore Interlaken after your walk, which is just a short train ride from Grindewald.

Is the Wengenalp train from Grindewald to Lauterbrunnen covered with the Swiss Travel Pass? Is it worth taking for a day trip from Grindwilde rather than a regular train? Also, with two of us in our 70’s can we manage the easy trail from Lauterbrunnen on the Valley trail? I doubt we would last the whole trip. Is there something we should see before turning around. On the same day should we manage walking around Interlaken too before heading back to Grindewald.
We are traveling in late May.
Thanks.
,Miggles
