    Hi,

Do redirect me to the appropriate forum if this is not the right one to ask this question. We are planning a trip in May and plan to stay close to Interlaken. Is there any places nearby (or in Bern) to buy budget oil paintings (say < $US 250)?

    Hi Hotlava,

Although I myself am not an art expert, I believe you might find helpful input from the members here on this page.

I asked google and found these art galleries, more in the Bern region than in Interlaken and unfortunately not all of them in English. However, I believe staff WILL speak (and answer emails in) English. Hope it helps:

    Hi hotlava,

Since you asked about oil paintings, I thought perhaps you might like to visit the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern. It’s a good rainy day activity and in case you’d like to expose the little travellers to a bit of culture.

Besides housing numerous Paul Klee arts collection, the museum also has a section for children to paint and express themselves through art. There are 1-hour classes available for children and adults at the Open Studio, and you can book these sessions on the day of your visit. Admission to the museum is free with the Swiss Travel Pass. The museum can be reached by Bus No 12 from Bern main station. More details about the museum here: http://www.zpk.org/en/

The children’s section is called Kindermuseum Creaviva: http://www.creaviva-zpk.org/en/free-time/open-studio

    Regards,
