Thanks Arno
Very helpful. I did not consider the SBB tourist webshop. That will make life easier
Old Guy16 January 2025 at 3:48:23 #2290725Thanks Danielsan.
That is what I plan to do. My only concern is that my ticket will not be the same route as the bags will travel. I do not think the bags would go to Zermatt via Tirano and St. Moritz which is what we are doing. I am fairly confident that as long as the combined tickets cover between Lugano and Zermatt, regardless of the route I take, the ticket would be valid. We won’t be using Swiss Travel Pass but will have 1/2 fare card and individual 1st. class tickets.
Thank you for taking the time to advise.

Thank you that insight. I think the train to Fluelen, boat to Vitznau etc. sounds like a good plan. Obviously all weather dependent.

Old Guyin reply to: April Swiss trip: where to go after Zermatt, accommodation, rail passParticipant16 posts6 January 2025 at 5:20:47 #2264660Hi Roger. Old guy here. Can I jump in here for advice? We are starting our June Swiss journey from Stresa then on to Lugano to start the remainder of our trip. We were looking at which train route for the Stresa -Lugano leg. I note you talk about the narrow guage scenic track between Lucarno and Domodossola. Due to your advice to “April Swiss Trip” we are now considering travelling Stresa- Domodossola- Locarno – Lugano linking up with the train that leaves Domodossola at 10.26am. Does that capture the scenic route you spoke about and will scheduled track works affect that line in June. Thanks for all the tips you provide. Regards.
