Dear Arno, Anneka and all the other friends who give such good advice.

I have just booked my 8 day travel pass at 20% reduction thanks to your information through the internet from Spain for my visit in December.

I am staying with family in Zurich then spending three nights in Wilderswil to visit Yungfraujoch and Schilthorn with local trecking.

I then travel to Zermatt and spend one night in the Gornergrat Kulm and one night in Hotel Simi in the town.

I still have two days on my pass to spend on day trips from Zurich !

I cannot thank you all enough for all your help.

    Best Regards,

    Cookie

You’re very welcome Cookie, I’m glad you could take advantage of this offer. For trips from Zurich you can have a look at myswissalps.com/ zurich.

Have a wonderful trip! A trip report would of course be very welcome.

A great news!!! Just wonder if there is any problem if I show the online ticket when travelling. As I read from the official website, the Swiss Pass should be a plastic card.

    Hi Yenii, welcome to MySwissAlps!

I think you are mixing up two passes: this thread is not about the Swiss Pass. It’s about the Swiss Travel Pass. The Swiss Pass is something entirely different and not geared to tourists. You can find details here.

As for your question: the Swiss Travel Pass can be printed at home, or shipped if you prefer that. In any case it’s a valid travel document.

Thanks for your prompt reply and clarification!

Oh! I really didn’t realize this minor change, as my travel guide also showed its old name “swiss pass” for tourist.

I wonder if there will be a problem if I order swiss travel pass from http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk from USA and the transaction went through but I haven’t got the e-pass yet.

    Hi pucca5555,

Did you already order or not yet? Officially this promotion is for residents of Europe only. I don’t think they take orders from elsewhere. If you live in Europe it takes 2-3 business days to e-mail the pass. You don’t receive it immediately after payment.

If you live in the US you’d better buy through http://www.raileurope-world.com/pass/swiss-pass and use the promo codes from http://www.raileurope-world.com/deals/great-deals-to-tour-Europe for a discount. All retailers can be found here.

I already ordered it last night and got the confirmation said:

“Many thanks for your order. Your order is being processed and will be sent to you by the requested mode of dispatch. We will send out the documents as soon as possible, at the latest 2 till 3 weeks prior to your departure.”

Do you think it will be a problem? Will it say anything on the pass if I don’t come from European country?

    Hi pucca5555,

If they can’t process your order they will cancel it and refund you. They won’t send an invalid pass. If this does not work for you, you can order through the other site I gave you. They only ship physical passes and it takes up to 8 working days, so keep that in mind. If you don’t have that much time you can order through http://www.raileurope.com/rai l-tickets-passes/swiss-pass/index.html. They do sell “print at home” passes to the US and you’ll get $50 off with the promo code “SwissTravel50”.

    Hi msra7hm2,

There’s another discount for the US. You can best ask your friend to take a look at http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/end-of-summer-sale-50-off-swiss-travel-pass. All the details and links are there. The pass will be issued through e-mail, so it can be printed wherever you are.

    Hi theyaso,

Welcome to MySwissAlps! You should have received an e-mail confirmation with additional information. They should e-mail the passes with a few working days.

Did you buy two weeks ago through http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk?

    Dear Arno,

I have checked my e mail for my reservation and it informs me that it should be processed 2-3 weeks prior to departure and at the latest 3 days before and it gives a reference number as well. The amount was debited from my account at the time of booking.

It is always a worry to book online but in this case it seems to early to panic !

    Best Regards,

    Cookie

    Hi Cookie,

That’s right, orders placed through http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk, and well before the travel date, will be processed a few weeks before traveling. I suppose they do so to allow easy cancellations/changes before that. Your order is fine. You can always e-mail them if you don’t receive the pass in time, but I don’t expect you need to do so.

    Hi Sriram,

Order processing only takes a few business days. Today, for example, you can still order passes for September 4. So no problem in your case.
