Hi

I am planning a trip to Switzerland with my family (2 adults, 2 kids(4 and 8)) this summer.

We have already booked accommodation and flights etc...I now need to start planning excusions/day trips/ activities for our 10 day stay.

So I'm looking for recommendations?

Also need some advise on the the travel pass: Swiss Traval Pass v Bernese Oberland Regional Pass v local Adelboden Hiking Pass.

Thanks in advance

Tanya :-)

Where are you staying? I assume Adelboden will be at least one of your bases? It is a fairly remote place to base if you are looking at excursions and hiking in the jungfrau region

For recommendations on Jungfrau region excursions and such suggest you download the three PDFs at www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/tips-about-wengen-and-the-jungfrau-region-by-kim

Sorry..yes we are staying in Adelboden. I stayed there with the Girl Guides as a child and vowed to return someday.

Welcome to MySwissAlps Tanya!

Adelboden is a wonderful place. As Kim says it's indeed a bit remote. The road through Frutigen is the only way to get there. If you plan to stay in the valley for the entire 10 days the Adelboden Hiking Pass may make sense. If you want to see more of the region another pass is a better choice. Please see the below links to compare and choose:

Adelboden is indeed a wonderful place to be, but not the place to travel to Bernese Oberland (Brienz, Grindelwald, Jungfraujoch, Wengen, Mürren) For example Adelboden to Wengen is about 2.50 hour one way with bus and train.
