hi we are a family of 5 (2 adults, 1 18yrold, 2 children) we are returning to lauterbrunnen in may but decided to travel by train from the uk I have booked the Eurostar leg £591.00 return looking for the best value way of booking from paris to switzeland return as well as traveling while we are there.

See http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/france. You could get the TGV from Paris through to Bern and get a Regional Pass Bernese Oberland for in Switzerland.

How old are your children? Kids under 6 travel for free. If you have a pass of the Swiss Travel System (http://www.myswissalps.com/swissrailpasses), children above 6 will travel for free with the Swiss Family Card: http://www.myswissalps.com/swissfamilycard.
If you have other passes or tickets, you can buy the Junior Travel Card: http://www.myswissalps.com/juniortravelcard
If you do not get any pass for your older child, he’ll get a 50% discount.

Great, Swiss Family Card and Junior travel Card are good for children from 6 to 15 years old, so you can use any of them.
