Greetings,

We will be going from Zurich to Wengen in Mid-September and would like to go up to the Jungfraujoch. From Wengen we will be on a two-week hiking tour with a group, then in early October will take the train from Wengen back to Zurich.

What is the best rail pass for us to get? We are both over 60 years old.

First of all, being over 60 does not get you any discounts. Switzerland is one of the few countries where there is no ‘senior’ rail card of any sort.

Your best bet is probably Saver Day Pass on your two travel days, and the best available ‘ordinary’ Jungfraujoch ticket you can find

if you are going to use any mountain transport while you hike, then the Swiss Half Fare Card would be great for you: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisshalffarecard. Saver Day Passes are also discounted if you have a Swiss Half Fare Card.
