    Hi,

I’d like to ask if the entire trip to Glacier 3000 is covered by Swiss Travel Pass including the cable car/gondola? I was reading this post http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/day-trip-to-glacier-3000-near-gstaad but the writing is using Saver Day Pass.

And where is the nearest base city to go there? Is it Montreux? We’ll be going to Interlakken, Lauterbrunnen, and Montruex.

And can I book the activities like helicopter ride or snow bus from this website? We will be going in late Nov to early Dec.

    Thanks!

    Hi Melzach03,

Welcome to MySwissAlps! You can best download the map from our Swiss Travel Pass page: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity. It shows full coverage until the base station, and the cable car is 50% off. It will indeed be easiest to reach from Montreux.

You can’t book activities directly with us, but we do link to websites where you can book. You can start here (not specifically for Glacier 3000): http://www.myswissalps.com/ac tivities.

    Hi Arno,

    Thanks for your fast reply.

I understand that reservation is not required? But can we make advance reservation or and how can we do that? Also how to purchaes tickets that are not fully covered like the cable car? Can we go to any train station in any city or can we do it online?

    Thanks!

    Hi Melzach03,

You’re welcome! You can’t reserve for cable car trips unless you’re with a very large group. The Swiss Travel Pass can be purchased online: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price. The discounted cable car tickets can be purchased on the spot or online: https://shop.switzerla ndtravelcentre.com/#/e n/overview/excursion.

    Thanks once again Arno!

A bit of side track. We are also thinking to visit Titlis from Lucerne. What’s the main difference between Titlis and Glacier 3000? Would you recommend visiting both? Or would it be better to replace Titlis with Pilatus and do Glacier 3000?

Other places we are planning to visit would be Jungfrauchjoch and/or Schilthorn from Lauterbrunnen.

Btw, our visit will be in end November.

Do let me know if better to post this in a separate thread. Thanks!

    Hello Melzacho3,

I personally don’t think Mount Pilatus is all that thrilling in the winter months, as the Golden Roundtrip isn’t available after mid November. There is also more to do on Mount Titlis than on Mount Pilatus, especially with snow.
