Valais and Engadine in winter with 4 year old kid

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning a trip to Switzerland with their 4-year-old kid in February 2023, focusing on kid-friendly activities like exploring scenic snow hiking trails. They are looking for advice on building an itinerary that includes Zurich and the Valais region, along with St. Moritz and Engadine, for a stay of 5-7 days before heading to Austria.

Key takeaways:
  • Start your trip in Zurich to explore the city and gather information.
  • Use the Lötschberg Mountain Railway to travel to the Valais region, with Brig as a good base for accessing nearby mountain villages.
  • Consider using the Glacier Express to reach St. Moritz for a scenic experience.
  • Spend a couple of days in the Upper Engadine, exploring St. Moritz and its surrounding villages.
  • Look into the Swiss Travel Pass for unlimited travel on the Swiss rail network if you plan to use public transportation.
