Do I need to reserve mountain transport trips?
Cable cars, cogwheel trains and funiculars do not need to be booked in advance, unless stated otherwise in the timetable. Special events like sunrise trips may require reservations. For some popular mountain routes, advance reservation is optional. In such cases, you can book seats through the respective transport company. Have a look at the "Tickets" section of our mountain pages for details.
All regular mountain transport can be used with just a valid ticket or a rail pass (many "rail" passes are actually public transport passes and thus also include mountain transport, either for free or with a discount).
