Hello,
I am planning a trip to ski and explore for 10 days in March with the following itinerary:
Fly in Zurich – take train to Jungfrau region
4 nights in Grindelwald (skiing at least 2 locations in Jungfrau region)
1 Night in Zermatt
3 nights in Lake Geneva region (possibly Lausanne as home base)
Train back to Zurich airport
Is it worth it to get the unlimited Swiss rail pass for this itinerary? Or does the half or flex pass allow us to take advantage of those areas? Is another order recommended?

If several of your day are skiing and no rail passes will be needed, the Swiss Half Fare Card for your trip might be the best idea, or possible the Swiss Travel Pass Flex

For a ski holiday, I’d probably add a night at least to Zermatt instead of the Lake Geneva area.

I would get the half fare card. I have an annual one (the one intended for residents but which can be owned by anyone (like me from London) and it suits your trip, as for ski-ing there is really no alternative to a full ski pass for the place you are in.
Many years ago I used to spend Christmas with my relatives near Geneva and take day trips to the resorts in Vaud and Valais.
However, I would recommend you stay in Zermatt and omit the ‘Lausanne’ stay. There is so much varied ski-ing in Zermatt you will want to spend 3 days there I’ll bet
Thank you for your help Lucas and 1960man! The flex pass seems like it would probably work best for us and i’ll Likely take your advice of staying in Zermatt extra time versus Lausanne.
The spreadsheet from my link will tell you for sure about which rail pass saves you the most money. The Swiss Travel Pass Flex is sometimes more convenient (offering ticket-less travel on most routes).
Either way it’ll be a great trip I am sure!
