7 days Lugano/Lucerne/Interlaken – where to go?
A traveler named Fwaliany is visiting Lugano with their parents from July 18th and needs advice on scenic train routes and activities. They are considering options for day trips, especially to Lucerne and Interlaken, and are also curious about purchasing a train pass for their travels.
- Consider renting a boat on Lake Lugano and visiting nearby mountains like Monte Brè and Monte San Salvatore.
- The Gotthard Panorama Express runs only once per day, but there are faster alternatives if you prefer.
- The Swiss Travel Pass can be a good option, but first finalize your itinerary to determine the best rail pass for your needs.
- A day trip to Mount Rigi from Lucerne is feasible and can be done in about half a day.

Hi, i will be arriving in Lugano from venice on 18th July 2018. i am travelling with my parents (31 yrs, 59 yrs, 59 yrs) i need help with routes and which scenic trains to take.
July 18th: Visit Lugano –> Any suggestions what to do, i was thinking renting a boat for couple hours.
July 19th: Visit lugano —> does the Gottarhard express only run 9:00 am in the morning or are there other times, is there an alternative to lucerne becasue 6 hours is a long trip? or should i skip lucerne and go to Interlaken and just spend 6 days there becasue there will be enough to do there.
July 20th:Open –> Need suggestions –> Visit lucerne or just go to Interlaken for 6 days?
July 21st:Open –> Need suggestions
