7 day itinerary in August start Zurich, end Lugano
A traveler is planning a 7-day trip to Switzerland in August, arriving in Zurich on day 1 and ending in Lugano on day 7. They aim to explore cities like Geneva and prefer using 2 or 3 hubs for daily trips while holding a Swiss Travel Pass for 8 consecutive days. They seek suggestions to maximize their limited time and see key attractions.
- Consider starting in Zurich and traveling to Lucerne, then using the Golden Pass line to Montreux for a few days.
- Plan a day trip to Geneva from Montreux and consider staying in Lucerne for better city experiences.
- Use the Swiss Travel Pass for unlimited travel on trains, buses, and boats during your visit.

Hello all,
I am trying to create a 7 day itinerary for our trip in August. A few things we can not change: We are flying in the morning of day 1 into Zurich and have to finish day 7 in Lugano. We decided to get Swiss Travel Pass for 8 consecutive days. We will not be spending much time in museums( our loss of course), but would like to see the cities, preferably including Zeneva, along with top attractions. I do realize 7 days is not enough, but would appreciate any help or suggestions. I was thinking about using 2 or 3 hubs for daily trips if possible?
