    Hi Mahesh,

    1. It is possible to combine the excursion to Jungfraujoch and Grindelwald First in one day. You might even have time for a quick trip to Lauterbrunnen and Mürren the same day. A possible route would be to ascend via Wengen and then return via Grindelwald, then going to Grindelwald First. Then possibly travel to Lauterbrunnen and Mürren if yo have time later in the day. However my advice would be to explore the places at a leisurely pace and try not to squeeze in too many destinations or activities in one day. You would probably have to set a different day to visit Zermatt (https://www.myswissalps.com/town/zermatt/) because that is located in a totally different region. You can find details on how to plan a trip to Jungfraujoch here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/jungfraujoch/
    2. Yes, you can certainly include a short visit to Bern (https://www.myswissalps.com/town/bern/) when you travel from Lucerne to Spiez if you have time.
    3. For your 1.5 day in Interlaken, I would plan my itinerary as follows: Brienzer Rothorn (https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/brienzer-rothorn/) + boat cruise on Lake Brienz (https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/boat-lake-brienz/)+ Harder Kulm (https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/harder-kulm/) in one day. The next day, boat cruise on Lake Thun (https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/boat-lake-thun/) + St Beatus Caves + Oberhofen Castle + Thun + Thun Castle. You might want to consider extending your stay in Interlaken if you are planning to include paragliding and a visit to the Ballenberg Museum into your itinerary. Or these activities can be done as a day trip/excursion from your base in Spiez.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi Mahesh,

I would plan the day trip as follows. The time indicated are estimates and for guidelines only. Please use the Swiss timetable (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel/public-transport/timetable/) to plan accordingly.

8.00 – Take train from Spiez to Mülenen (10 mins), then funicular to the top of Niesen (30 mins). You can find details on how to reach Niesen here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/niesen/

10.00 – Return to Mülenen and travel to Thun by train (20 mins).

11.40 – Travel on the boat from Thun to Beatushöhlen/St Beatus Caves (abt 1.5 hr). For your information, there are only 2 boat departures from Thun in May. So make sure you allow enough time for travel to the boat landing stage in Thun.

13.30 – From the boat landing stage at St Beatus Caves, take bus No. 21 to Beatenbucht (9 mins). The bus leaves every half hour.

13.20 – Take the funicular from Beatenbucht to Beatenberg then switch to the cable car to Niederhorn. Free time to explore the mountaintop.

16.00 – From Niederhorn, return to Beatenbucht then continue with Bus 21 to Thun stopping at Oberhofen am Thun if you wish. Explore Thun and visit the castle. Here is the link for sightseeing tips in Thun: https://www.myswissalps.com/town/thun/

End of the day – Train back to Spiez.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi Anna,

The number 21 bus passes nowhere the Beautus Caves boat jetty but higher up and much closer to the entry to St Beautus Caves themselves. The bus comes down to the water at Beatenbucht and close to the funicular to Beatenberg and Niederhorn.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your input.

Yes, from the St Beatus Caves’ you can take bus 21 to the boat landing stage at Beatenbucht if you’re planning to take the boat, or remain on the bus and continue to Thun.

    Regards,

    Anna
