Best Swiss Christmas market in 2021
Tom is excited about his upcoming trip to Switzerland this December, where he'll stay in Unterseen and Interlaken for two weeks. He wants to visit several Christmas fairs in cities like Bern, Thun, and Luzern, and is looking for recommendations on the best ones to check out during his visit, especially since he will have a Swiss Travel Pass to travel easily.
- Visit the Christmas market in Montreux as it is highly recommended by other travelers.
- The Basel Christmas market is also worth your time, being one of the largest in Switzerland.
- Consider checking out the Christmas fair in Colmar, France, which is near Basel, but be prepared for crowds, especially on weekends.
- Use the Golden Pass train from Interlaken to Montreux for stunning views along the way.

I finally have managed to be in Switzerland this December (2021) staying in Unterseen and Interlaken. What I really want to do this trip is visit some of the various Christmas Fairs in Bern, Thun, Interlaken, Luzern and maybe Lauterbrunnen and Grindenwald. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on which Christmas Fair they considered their favorite, or the best, to visit. I have two weeks starting in mid December thru December 28th before I have to go to England. I’ll have a Swiss Travel Pass so getting around shouldn’t be a problem. Was wondering if Davos, St Moritz, Zermatt or some of the larger cities like Zurich, Basel or Geneva might have Christmas Fairs worth visiting. All comments and suggestions are welcome. Tom
