    Hello all,

I’m trying to make a detailed plan for my stay in Lauterbrunnen for 5 days. My hotel is in Wengen. I have read many things about this region but I’ll appreciate it if you can give me a route to follow. How can I spend those 5 days wisely to see as much scenery as possible? And what is “not to miss” for example? Thank you so much in advance!

    Regards,

    Evrim

    Hi Evrim,

Based on your previous threads, you will be travelling in June, right?

    Here are my suggestions.

1st day – Jungfraujoch in the morning. Afternoon – take cable car to Männlichen from Wengen. Hike on Royal Walk trail or Panoramaweg from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg.

2nd day: Grindelwald – Take cable car to Grindelwald First, do the First Cliff Walk, brunch at Berghaus First, hike to Bachalpsee, picnic at Bachalpsee. Walk back to First station. Take cable car down to middle station Bort and ride the trottinet/scooter down to the valley.

3rd day: Explore Lauterbrunnen – Staubbach Falls. Take cable car from Stechelberg to Schilthorn. Optional: Lunch at Piz Gloria. Don’t forget the Thrill Walk at Birg. Take the cable car down to Gimmelwald. Walk to and explore Mürren. Take cog train and cable car down to Lautebrunnen via Mürren and Grutschalp. You can find the round trip details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/murren/travel

4th day: Travel to Brienz via Interlaken Ost. Optional: Take steam train to Brienzer Rothorn. Take a boat trip to Giessbach and Iseltwald. From Iseltwald, take bus back to Interlaken Ost. Optional: Take funicular to Harder Kulm before travelling back to Wengen.

5th day: Travel to to Thun via Interlaken West. Explore Thun, then take a boat trip on Lake Thun. This trip can be combined with side visits to the Beatus Caves or Niederhorn or Sigriswil.

I hope this will give you some ideas on how to go about with your itinerary. I’m sure you’ll get more feedback from other members of the forum.

    regards,

    Anna

    Hi Anna,

    Yes, it’s in June.

I have taken too much of your time and effort. I needed this also to calculate the transportation expenses. A big hug and thank you for all your help. I really appreciate it. I travel a lot but I found planning this trip challenging as it is full of spots to see and tickets and passes to buy. Thanks again and again.

    Regards,

    Evrim
