Interlaken – weather forecast raining all week
A traveler is visiting Switzerland from July 26th, spending two nights in Lucerne, four nights in Interlaken, and then heading to Zermatt. They are worried about daily rain based on the 10-day forecast and want to know if this kind of weather is typical for late July and if the rain is usually heavy or brief, as they have many outdoor activities planned.
- Expect scattered showers rather than constant rain, especially in late July.
- Rain often occurs in the afternoon while mornings can be sunny, so plan outdoor activities for early in the day.
- Check local forecasts for Interlaken, as they can change quickly, particularly for days beyond three days out.
- Consider getting a Swiss Travel Pass for easy access to trains and transportation during your trip.

We are traveling to Switzerland, arriving on the 26th July. We’ll spend two nights in Lucerne then 4 nights in Interlaken, then on to Zermatt. I’m a little worried because the 10 day forecast for all 3 of those places has it raining every day. Does it often rain for a week plus straight in late July? And when it rains, is it typically a quick passing shower like some places we have traveled to, or an all day kind of rain (like where we live). We have planned lots of hiking, biking and other outdoor activities and non stop soaking rain would definitely put a damper on our vacation.
