Hello all, I would like to ask how easy is the train station from the Zurich airport please. And is there a specific scenic route you would recommend? And last, is what is the % sign on the SBB mobile app on the timetable ? Thank you sooooo much to all of you amazing people here!!!
Zurich Airport has its own train station (Zurich Flughafen) located in the same building, a few floors down from Arrival. Just follow the signs and use the escalators or lifts to get to the lower floors. You can find more info about the airport including a layout map here: http://www.myswissalps.com/airports/zurich
The % on the SBB timetable indicates Supersaver tickets. These are discounted point-to-point tickets and have certain restrictions. You can find further details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/switzerland
Hope this helps.
regards,
Anna

Hello, Sunset. The Zurich airport is easy to navigate. Just follow the signs with the train icon. The ticket area for the SBB is on the level below the restaurants, near the COOP & COOP Pronto grocer locations. The actual train platforms are one level below and are clearly marked, but persons at the ticket counter are happy to assist you.
As for as the most scenic route to Wengen is concerned, I think all routes in Switzerland are scenic. The fastest routes take you through Bern. You’ll see a pretty approach to that city and from there you’ll go to Thun and then have a pretty ride around the lake until you reach another station change at Interlaken Ost. The views are marvelous, you may wish to sit on the left side of the train. HOWEVER, my favorite route, though longer by about 45 minutes and possibly an extra change of trains, would be to go via Luzern (the Luzern station is not as large as Bern’s) and take a gorgeous ride over the Brunnig Pass, through Meiringen & Brienz and then around that lake to Interlaken Ost. (I like to sit on the right side of the train until I’m in Meiringen and then if possible switch to the left side.) From Interlaken Ost the ride is the same. When you take the train from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen you want to sit on the right side of the train for the iconic views of the Lauterbrunnen valley.
The SBB app will always give you the quickest route, sometimes you’ll want to add a “via” or ask an SBB agent if you want to take in a particular scenic route. Enjoy your trip!
I agree with Laura. Just follow the signs with the train icon to get to the train station.
As for the most scenic route from the airport to Wengen, if timing is not an issue, I would travel via Lucerne. You can check train schedules on the SBB timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable
Please could you clarify, do you mean a complimentary rail ticket from Zurich airport to Lucerne with the airline Swissair? If this is the case, I would contact Swissair directly.
Otherwise a ticket or rail pass would be required for all travel within Switzerland.
