Lucerne to Interlaken, train reservation required?
John is planning to travel from Lucerne to Interlaken using a Swiss Travel Pass and is wondering if he needs to book a seat on the PE train he plans to catch at either 8:06 or 9:06 am. He also wants to know if he needs the Swiss Travel Pass before making a reservation for the Glacier Express.
- No seat reservation is needed for the Luzern-Interlaken Express, as it's treated like a regular train.
- You can purchase the Swiss Travel Pass at any time; it is not required before making a reservation for the Glacier Express.

Hi ,As part of our journey by train around Switzerland using a Swiss travel Pass we will be going from Lucerne to Interlaken. We planned to catch a PE train at 8.06 or 9.06am. As this is an Express train do we need to book a seat or just board like a normal train . I think just like a normal train but just needed to confirm this. Also when doing a seat reservation for the Glacier Express do I need to already have a Swiss Travel Pass or can I buy the SWP at a later date.
Regards John
