Expected rain in Lucerne, Interlaken, and Zermatt areas in early June
A traveler named Nayan is planning a trip to Switzerland from June 3rd to June 13th. They will spend time in Lucerne, Interlaken, and Zermatt and are looking for advice on what weather to expect during this rainy season, especially regarding the frequency and duration of rain and visibility for outdoor activities. Helpful insights would greatly assist in their planning.
- In early June, rain can be common but varies from light showers to all-day rain.
- Mornings may be clearer, allowing for better visibility, so plan outdoor activities accordingly.
- Consider checking the weather guide for practical tips on what to expect during your trip.
- Look into getting a Swiss Travel Pass for convenient transport between cities and attractions.

Hi All,
We are planning a Switzerland trip next year from June 3rd to June 13th, 2026.
Our current itinerary includes:
- 2 nights in the Lucerne area
- 6 nights in the Interlaken area
- 2 nights in the Zermatt area
I’ve been looking into typical weather and understand that early June is often considered one of the wetter periods. I would be immensely helpful if the community could guide me on what to realistically expect.
My main questions regarding the weather are:
- How frequent is the rain during this period?
- How long do the rainy spells usually last (all day washout, or short showers)?
- Are the mornings generally clearer, allowing for better visibility and outdoor activities?
Any guidance and firsthand experiences would be greatly appreciated to help us plan our trip better.
Thanks in advance for your help!
