Snow activities Interlaken and Lucerne in May?
A family of 2 adults and 1 child is planning their first trip to Switzerland for 6 days in the first week of May, wanting to explore Zurich, Lucerne, and Interlaken while experiencing snow activities. They’re seeking advice on which mountains to visit for snow, check for closures, and confirm Swiss Travel Pass coverage for Stanserhorn.
- Visit Mount Titlis for reliable snow activities as it is open year-round and check the cable car schedule for any maintenance.
- Expect limited snow on Mount Rigi during May, so prioritize Mount Titlis or Jungfraujoch for a better experience.
- Stanserhorn is still covered under the Swiss Travel Pass, along with Schilthorn, which may also offer snow activities.

Hi.We are a family of 2 adults and 1 child visiting Switzerland ( 1st timr)for 6 days in the first week of May.We plan to cover Zurich ,Lucerene and Interlaken.
1.As we have never seen snow,we are very much interested in undertaking a few snow activities ( not skiing)Which mountain is best for this? Does Mount Pilatus or Rigi have such activities during that time. Will the cogwheel at Pilatus be operational during that period?
2.Will there be any places closed during that period as I believe it is off season?
3.Is Stanserhorn still fully covered under the Swiss Travel Pass?
Thanks once again. You guys are doing a great job.
