Hi

I am travelling with my husband and kid to Swiss in August. We are planning to take Swiss Saver day pass for me and husband for 2 days and a ‘Junior Travel Card’ for my 10 year old kid. Please let me know whether the below routs are completely covered with these two cards(bus/rail and boat)

Geneva – Interlaken

Interlaken -wengen / Grindelwld(and return)

Interlaken – Breinz (and return)

Breinz – Lucerne (and return)

Lucerne – Mt Rigi

Lucerne – Engelberg (and return)

When does your trip start and how many days will you stay? Aren’t you going to any mountains, is that right?

Thanks a lot for the reply. We are visiting Switzerland from 16th August to 18th August. Not panning to roam around too much. Need a relaxed vacation .This is my plan

Day 1 : Parts of Jungfraujoch which are accessible thru Saver Day pass and a boat ride from Interlaken to Breinz

Day 2 : Spend some time in Brienz and Lucerne

Day 3 : visit Mount Titlis and Mount Rigi

Will I be able to cover both Mount Titlis and Mount Rigi on the same day ? Do I need to book tickets to Mount Titlis in advance ? Do we get bicycles for rent to roam around ?

Hi Surya,

Seeing your itinerary, you might be better off getting a 3 day Swiss Travel Pass rather than Saver Day Passes. I chccked the minimum price for a Saver Day Pass for your travel dates, and it’s at least CHF 70 (prices vary, see http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass/price), whereas a 3 day Swiss Travel Pass costs CHF 232 which is CHF 77 per day (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price), but it includes a lot more than a Saver Day Pass. Moreover, your child will get to travel along for fee with the Swiss Family Card, that can be ordered along for free with a Swiss Travel Pass. You can compare validity and coverage using the pages below:

Yes, you can rent bicycles. I’m not sure where you’d want to do this, but you’ll find options in most larger towns.
