Switzerland with kids end of March – suggestions?
A traveler is visiting Switzerland for the first time at the end of March, planning to stay for 4 days and 3 nights with their young children. They want to ski at a big resort, ideally St. Moritz or Zermatt, and enjoy city life, with concerns about skiing conditions and family-friendly accommodations.
- Consider skiing at Zermatt, as it's the highest ski resort in Switzerland and usually has good conditions until late April.
- You can rent ski gear easily at most ski resorts, ensuring convenience for families.
- Look for ski-in/ski-out resorts or accommodations that are a short walk or train ride to the slopes for easier access with kids.
- Staying in cities like Lucerne offers a great base for exploring while enjoying urban amenities.

Hi!
We’re traveling to Switzerland for the 1st time at the end of March for 3 full days (plus 2 travel days). We have 2 children – 3 and 5 – and we’re there mainly to ski at one of the big resorts there and take in the sites (beautiful mountains, views). We prefer the city life for overnight stays where possible. Since our children are small, and it’s probably going to be cold,we’d wouldn’t be interested in much hiking, etc.
We’re flying into Zurich (around 4pm), and were thinking about skiing at St. Moritz either 1/2 days, and then going on Glacier Express from St. Moritz to Andermatt, then staying at Lucerne. Wondering if anyone has any itinerary suggestions, and whether this is a good time for skiing/traveling to Switzerland?
After Switzerland, we’re staying in Paris for 7 days and haven’t decided whether to fly to Paris or take the train and maybe stopover in another city in France, such as Lyon.
