Traveling from Zermatt

Short summary – read this first

Vasishtha is planning a 6-day trip in June, taking the Glacier Express from St. Moritz to Zermatt. They need help with train travel from Zermatt to Interlaken, then from Interlaken to Geneva airport, and are unsure about purchasing a Swiss Travel Pass since a 6-day option isn’t available.

Key takeaways:
  • Check the train timetable for routes between Zermatt, Interlaken, and Geneva airport.
  • If you don’t travel much on your first and last days in Switzerland, consider buying the 4-day Swiss Travel Pass and separate tickets for those days.
  • An 8-day Swiss Travel Pass might be a good option if you plan to travel frequently.

    Hi,

I am traveling on a 6 day vacation and have booked myself on Glacier express on 17th June from St. Moritz to Zermatt. I need guidance on:-

a)travel from Zermatt to interlaken by train

    b) travel from Interlaken to Geneva airport by train

    c) I would be in Switzerland for 6 days but can’t find a 6 day Swiss pass. What should I do – should I buy the 8 day Swiss pass?

    please guide.

    brgds,

    vasishtha.

    Hi Vasishtha,

All trains can be found in the timetable. If you don’t travel a lot on day 1 and 6 of your stay, you can consider the 4-day Swiss Travel Pass and buy separate tickets for those days. Otherwise an 8-day pass makes sense. For pass details (how it works, what’s included, prices), please look here.
