You can take the IC from Spiez if you want to quickest route, or my suggestion for the scenic route. Before booking anything you’d best look at your overall travel in Switzerland and see if you need a pass. With the Swiss Travel Pass, for example, all these trains are included and there is nothing else to book. The child will travel for free.

Yes I already bought the Swiss Pass. However I’m aware that it is better to reserve seats for paranomic train. I’m considering the scenic train from Luzern to Spiez. However from Spiez , do you mean the scenic ride from Spiez to Zweisimmen?

I mean Luzern to Interlaken Ost, Interlaken Ost to Spiez, Spiez via Kandersteg to Brig. None of these trains requires a reservation. You only need your Swiss Travel Pass. You can fill out Kandersteg in the via box in the advanced timetable to get exact schedules: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable.
None of the trains you are considering are “panoramic” trains. They are all just regular trains and that’s why you don’t need reservations. Don’t worry, the scenery is exactly the same irrespective of the size of the windows on the trains.
