Which Swiss rail pass for my child to travel free?
A traveler is planning a trip to Switzerland from September 5-12, visiting Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken, and Zermatt. They want to know if a 4-day Swiss Travel Pass Flex and a 3-day Berner Oberland Pass will provide discounts and whether their son can travel for free with these passes. They are looking for clear advice on the best pass options for their itinerary.
- Purchase a Swiss Travel Pass to qualify for the Swiss Family Card, allowing free travel for children aged 6-15 with an adult.
- If using the Berner Oberland Pass or Jungfrau Travel Pass, children need a specific child pass or can also travel free with the Swiss Family Card.
- To get discounts on the Berner Oberland Pass or Jungfrau Pass, make sure to use a day from the Swiss Travel Pass Flex on those travel days.
