Zermatt to Andermatt GEX versus by car scenery
-
Hi guys,
So I have a question about the scenery from Zermatt to Andermatt by train or car. Based on other posts here it seems like for GEX, the scenery from Zermatt to Andermatt is the same by GEX or train, but how about versus driving the car? My family will be driving a car since we start our trip from Frankfurt, and we are wondering whether we should let my mom and sister be on the GEX, while my dad and I be on the car and pick them up at the Andermatt station, or just all travel by car (parked at Tasch). Based on research it seems like the best part of GEX is Andermatt to St. Moritz, but since we want to visit Lucerne, Stoos funicular, Zurich (maybe), and stay at hotel in Vaduz during that day, it seems very hard to do that train route.
Current tentative plans:
Day 1: Colmar – Bern – Blausee – Grindelwald
Day 2: Jungfraujoch – Wengen
Day 3: Golden pass to Montreux – Zermatt
Day 4: Zermatt – Gornergrat (Matt horn)
Day 5: Zermatt – Lucerne – Stoos – Zurich (maybe) – Vaduz
Day 6: Vaduz – Germany (Neuschwanstein, Konigssee)
Any tips would be gladly appreciated!
