Hi NeeluGarg,
I do not know about any extra tolls, I guess you already have the Swiss motorway vignette: http://www.myswissalps.com/mo torwayvignette
If you go on the quickest way you will also go through the Gotthard tunnel, be careful driving there, it is quite long and be aware of the speed limits too. If you would like to have a nicer landscape you can go via the Gotthard Pass. Please refer to this: http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/st-gotthard-pass-or-tunnel. It is not so easy to drive in the mountains if you are not used to it, this can give you a few advice: http://www.myswissalps.com/ca r/drivinginthemountain s
On this map you can find the road works if you follow your route: http://www.myswissalps.com/ca r/trafficinfo
In case you would like to compensate for the CO2 emission of your trip: http://www.myswissalps.com/co 2compensation
You probably will drive through Lucerne. It is a lovely city and has a lot of attraction. If you wish to have a longer break, it would be a great place to stop. http://www.myswissalps.com/lu cerne Anyway you can have short breaks along the lakes there too.
I hope this helps, have a nice and safe drive.

Thank you, Annika and Ildiko for your quick responses.
We have not left Lugano yet. We are slow starters in the morning.
We stayed in Lucerne for 9 days and did awesome day trips, short trips.
We have a rental car and there is a sticker on it which I am assuming is the vignette you are talking about.
I mapped the route up to Zurich with a stopover in Bellinzona.
There are almost 10 Toll stops enroute. How much change should we keep with us or is the motorway vignette similar to Fastrack in USA which automatically charges the toll.
We didn’t ask our rental car agency about paying for the tolls.
Please reply.
Thanks again.

Yes, that should be the motorway vignette, usually rented cars do have it.
Where have you seen the 10 toll stops? If you stay within the country there shouldn’t be any toll stops, all you need is the motorway vignette. On this picture you can see how it looks like: http://www.myswissalps.com/mo torwayvignette
