Best time for week Switzerland with snow & green
A traveler is planning a 7-day trip to Switzerland with a focus on the Swiss Alps, particularly visiting towns like Lucerne, Interlaken, and Zermatt. They are looking for advice on the best time to visit when there is both snow on the mountains and greenery in the valleys, without skiing involved.
- Consider visiting in May, as it offers a mix of alpine snow and blooming greenery.
- Take the Glacier Express train for stunning mountain scenery and an unforgettable experience.
- The Swiss Travel Pass can be a great option for unlimited travel on trains, buses, and boats in the region.

I’m planning a trip to Switzerland for about 7 days. Most of the time I want to spend is in Swiss Alps. Some of the towns I want to visit are Lucerne, Interlaken, Zermatt etc. (Take the glacier express train ride). I do not ski and can do moderate hike.I want to visit during a time when there is a lot of snow mixed with a lot of green. Usually, during summer season, the snow can only be seen on mountain tops.
What would be the time when snow has receded from the valleys but there is still plenty of snow on mountains?
