Key takeaways:
  • Consider visiting in May, as it offers a mix of alpine snow and blooming greenery.

I’m planning a trip to Switzerland for about 7 days. Most of the time I want to spend is in Swiss Alps. Some of the towns I want to visit are Lucerne, Interlaken, Zermatt etc. (Take the glacier express train ride). I do not ski and can do moderate hike.I want to visit during a time when there is a lot of snow mixed with a lot of green. Usually, during summer season, the snow can only be seen on mountain tops.

What would be the time when snow has receded from the valleys but there is still plenty of snow on mountains?

    Welcome to MySwissAlps nnahata!

I would estimate that May fits your requirements. A lot depends on altitude and the weather during spring, but May would be very nice in lake areas with nearby peaks. Please also see myswissalps.com/bestti metovisit.
