Day trip by panoramic train from Interlaken

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning to stay in Lauterbrunnen during the first week of August and is curious about doing a full-day trip on a panoramic train while returning to the same station. They have a car, so they're looking for routes that allow them to explore scenic areas without leaving Lauterbrunnen.

Key takeaways:
  • You can travel to Montreux or Lucerne by the GoldenPass train and return via Bern and Thun.
  • Consider taking a day trip to Zermatt with the RegioExpress Lötschberger train.
  • Plan routes using the train timetable for more efficient travel and scenic options.
  • Explore normal trains and cogwheel trains in the Jungfrau region for stunning views.

    Hi!

we are staying in laurerbrunnen in the first week of august, and I was looking at the panoramic trains but couldn’t quite figure out wether it is possible to do a full day trave and finish at the same station again (I think Interlaken is closest than?)

is it possible to do a day trip in a panoramic train and finish at the same station again since we are not travelling through by train and have the car in Lauterbrunnen?
