Hi ,

Below is my Itinerary.

I will appreciate if some one reviews it.

Is this too packed, is this all doable.

Will 15 day swiss travel pass be good idea for 10 day trip. and can I use it later from milan to add bernina express.

May 25th Zurich        2 night stay            rhine falls?? Bahnhofstrrase

May 26th                                            day trip to Luceren, mt pilatus

May 27th Grindelwald      2 night stay   grindelwald first,

bachalpsee lake hike if open

May 28th                                               Day trip to    Jungfurjoch

May 29th Interlaken        2 night stay   lake thun or Brienze boat ride, harder kulm

May 30th                        Day trip to luterbrunnen and mount schilthorn

May 31th  Montreux    2 night stay  afternoon Chillion castle , lake Geneva

June Ist                      day trip to Gstaad and Gruyere villages

June 2nd Zermatt         1 night  stay  Matterhorn glacier paradise and gornergrat train tour

June 3rd Milan                5 night stay       evening  in Milan

4th June                        day trip to lake Como, Bellagio, Vernan

5th June                       Day trip  to Florence

6th  June                          Day trip to Turin or Lake Garda or benina express???

7th June            all day in Milan.

8th back home.

I will appreciate all help.

Thanks for sharing your travel plans. Your itinerary is doable and includes all the major tourist attractions in the Swiss Alps. I think getting the 15-day Swiss Travel Pass is definitely a good idea. This railpass will cover your journey up to the Swiss-Italian border but you will need to a valid ticket from the border to Milan. The Swiss Travel Pass is not valid in Italy. Hi SJS,

Based on your mentioned itinerary, I would recommend staying in one place in the Jungfrau region (https://www.myswissalps.com/region/jungfrau-region/) . Instead of moving from Grindelwald to Interlaken, I would think about staying in one or the other for the whole time. This way, you don’t have to spend half of a day checking in/out of any place. From Interlaken to Interlaken Ost is a five minute ride. Interlaken Ost is the only entry point to either Lauterbrunnen ( or Grindelwald. (20 min to Lauterbrunnen. 30 min to Grindelwald.) At Int. Ost station the train to both Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald leave from Platform 2. There will be painted on the floor very clearly where to board, depending on Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald.

I have spent time in Wengen (https://www.myswissalps.com/town/wengen/) both 5 years ago (in Sept) and this past September and loved it. It’s a car-free village looking down into the Lauterbrunnen Valley with some amazing scenery. Many folks on this forum have also recommended staying in Wengen, but obviously, that is your call. It’s fairly central to many things in the area. Interlaken is larger, and therefore more busy than Grindelwald. Grindelwald more busy than Lauterbrunnen, and Lauterbrunnen , more busy than both Wengen and Murren, which are both car-free. Murren (https://www.myswissalps.com/town/murren/) is where you have to go, to see the Schilthorn (https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/schilthorn/ ). Also, you can visit both the Jungfraujoch (https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/jungfraujoch/) and Grindelwald First (https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/grindelwald-first/) on the same day. Many folks recommend going to the Jungfrau first, as it can be less crowded.

As far as going to Montreux, you can visit Gstaad (https://www.myswissalps.com/town/gstaad/)  on your way there, as the train goes through there. This way, you need not spend part of a day to see it as a day trip from Montreux.

My last recommendation would be to consider staying 2 nights in Zermatt. (Possibly shave a day off Milan?) Once you’re there, you’ll understand. These are just some suggestions that may help you. If you already have your hotels booked and don’t want to change them, that’s fine. Again, it’s your trip. Enjoy. Have a great time.

Thank you so much for your response, these are all great ideas.

This is what I needed to know, as this is my first trip, so was not sure which areas to stay to get the most out of it.

I will for sure make some adjustments based on your suggestions , this has been very helpful.
