Hello DrSK and and Welcome to MySwissAlps,
If you search this site for the attractions you are interested in and go to the “Route” tab you should find “Dates of Operation”. See for example http://www.myswissalps.com/pi latus/gettingthere.
The Tell Pass only covers the Luzern area so won’t be much use in getting you to Geneva.
Based on your personal itinerary you should read “How to choose the best travel pass” (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass), download the handy spreadsheet calculator and do the math. The spreadsheet also includes links to the “Where it’s valid” page for all available passes. Be sure to check those pages for each pass you are considering. Study the map AND read all the text on those pages to fully understand what is covered by the respective pass.

Hi drSK-
In addition o Rockoyster’s exact, complete and succinct recommendation:
<“Pack an umbrella.”>>
I offer the following supplemental advice. Weather in Switzerland is highly localized, and the Alps make their own weather:
1.- Good for local weather:

And, forgot to add-

Hi DrSK,
Getting the Tell Pass Winter is a good idea if you plan only to explore Lucerne and the surrounding areas throughout the duration of your trip. The details are explained clearly on this page: http://www.myswissalps.com/te llpasswinter
You can check which mountains/attractions are open by clicking on the ‘route’ tab as suggested by rockoyster. The Tell Pass however does not cover your entire journey from and to Geneva and you would still have to get addidional tickets. In which case, maybe the Swiss Travel Pass may be best overall (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass). Or you could also consider getting the point-to-point tickets to pay for the journey not covered by the Tell Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/switzerland).
Hopefully the weather will be lovely during your visit but it’s always good to have a backup plan for a rainy day:) For example, you could spend an equally nice day at the Museum of Transport or visit the Aeschbach Chocolatier not very far from Lucerne.
Best regards,
Anna

We arrived in Lucerne before noon today. Checked in, and got our Winter Tell-Pass. Then straight to Mt Titlis. Totally worth it. It was raining a bit initially in Lucerne and when we reached Engelberg. But then when we reach the top it was snowing and nice. For us who has not seen much snow, so far this has been great.
for tomorrow, definitely going to Rigi, but not sure yet whether we can combine with Pilatus with a very early start, or something else.

Hello DrSK,
I am glad to know that you were able to go to Titlis and that you were able to see snow.
You can see Rigi and Pilatus with a early start, and by using the train timetable to plan the route between the mountains and towns:
You should check the real time webcams for the weather at Rigi and Pilatus before you go. Usually people need around 2 hours average for each mountain top.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Suzanne
