Travelling from Lucern to Zematt and Brig
A traveler plans to arrive in Lucerne on December 24th and is looking to travel to Zermatt for the day before staying in Brig, then catching the Glacier Express to St. Moritz. They seek advice on the best travel options and whether their itinerary is feasible, mentioning they will have travel passes.
- Use the Lötschberger Regio-Express for a scenic route from Lucerne to Zermatt, as it avoids the quick tunnel connection and offers lovely views when the weather is clear.
- If using the Swiss Travel Pass, your journey will be covered, but remember to make seat reservations for the Glacier Express as soon as possible, especially during the holiday season.
- Consider staying in Zermatt instead of Brig, as the Glacier Express departs from there, although accommodation can be pricier in Zermatt during this busy week.

Hi, We are arriving in Lucerne on the 24th December and plan to travel around for a few days. We wanted to travel from Lucerne to Zematt for the day and then back to Brig to stay for the night before catching the Glacier Express to St Moritz. Is this plan possible and if so what would be the best way to travel? We will have travel passes. Thank you
