    Welcome to MySwissAlps!

The forum moderators do not create itineraries, but they will offer suggestions regarding one that you put together. You’ve given us very little information about your preferences of what to do and what you want to see (Interlaken doesn’t have all that much to see). Museums? Mountains only? Small villages, cows and cowbells, snow? Historic parts of cities? Swiss food?

Here’s a link to a page that gets you started with creating an itinerary.

Dear Neerav.. recently i did Europe tour with 4 dsys in Swiss. I came to Lucern from Venice via Train. Got down at Bellinzona n caught slow train to Fluelen. From Fluelen i took boat to Lucern… 2.30 hrs scenic n most beautiful boat ride. So the train n boat journey turned into sight seeing + transport… double purpose.
    Second day did Riggi mountain.
    Third day did Jungfrauoch.
Forth day did Lucern old city + cable car from Wengen.

Availed swiss travel pass of 4 days.. very good utilisation.

Change according to your incoming n outgoing destinations.

    Hi Nirav pandit,

if you would like to more about Switzerland in general, please browse this page: http://www.myswissalps.com/ab outswitzerland. You will find there useful information like weather, culture, languages, money, etc.

After Interlaken and the Jungfrau region Lucerne and its region would be a nice choice: http://www.myswissalps.com/la kelucerne.

On this link you’ll find a very useful guide with a calculation spreadsheet, which helps you how to choose a rail pass in just 5 steps: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass. The downloadable spreadsheet also includes links to the “Where it’s valid” page for all available passes, be sure to study it carefully.

Usually travelers choose the Swiss Travel Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass) as this is the best and most convenient solution for trains within Switzerland.

Dear Nirav.. it seems you want 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream by staying at Zermat and doing Jungfrauoch!!
I would suggest..enjoy Pista by not missing Lucerne..most beautiful of Switzerland and add topping of Vanilla by visiting Titlis or Jungfrauoch ..

    Hi Nirav pandit,

you’ll find a bunch of ideas on these links here:

You could also have a boat trip on the Lake Lucerne, more details can be found here: http://www.myswissalps.com/bo atlakelucerne. From Lucerne you can visit Titlis (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti tlis) or Rigi (http://www.myswissalps.com/ri gi) or Pilatus (http://www.myswissalps.com/pi latus).

I hope this helps, please visit the links above. 🙂

    Hi Nariv Pandit,

I’d pick Montreux because it’s more central in Switzerland, closer to the mountains and smaller than Geneva. If you prefer a city, then Lausanne or Geneva are better. Please see:

I am not aware of any actual factories nearby, but if you visit the Swiss Open Air Museum in Ballenberg, then you can enjoy cheese and chocolate making demonstrations nearly every day:

Entrance is free with your Swiss Travel Pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass.

When I was planning my trip, I downloaded the SBB Mobile app. It gives you times for trains, buses and cable cars in one place. You can put in your start location and destination all the way up to the top of several of the mountains. It really helped me figure out what was reasonable for travel times. I also read up to see how long I should plan to spend at each location. Takes some research to figure it all out. You can save your routes in the app too. I used the Full Swiss Pass – loved being able to jump on the train at any time in case my original plan changed due to weather or other reasons. I also used the discount to go up to several mountains. Be flexible, the weather can impact your decisions.

At your dates , many but not all high Alpine facilities will be closed. Between seasons.

Please make sure that you check your travel plans and accommodation plans carefully.

    Hi Nirav,

Montreux is beautiful, right on the lake, looking over to the mountains. From here you could do a day trip by train to Gruyeres, where there is a castle, a medieval old town, and a cheese factory. I believe there is also a chocolate factory, or you could visit the Maison Cailler chocolate factory at nearby Broc.

There is a great castle, Chillon, at Montreux, definitely worth a visit. You could also go for a boat ride on the lake, so my pick would be to stay in Montreux.

From Zermatt you could also go up to Klein Matterhorn for breathtaking views.

    Have a great trip.

    Hi,

yes, that is true. Gruyeres is a lovely village with a wonderful medieval old town on a hill, with a castle and some interesting museum (one about Tibet and one about H. R. Giger, who created the Alien in the movie. Although that museum is a bit scary in my opinion.) And not to mention the cheese which is one of the best Swiss cheese, they also use it to make cheese fondue, which is a traditional cuisine here.

I would also choose Montreux instead of Geneve. You could try this too: http://www.myswissalps.com/ro chersdenaye. And if you are in the region, make sure not to miss the 100 years old steamboats: http://www.myswissalps.com/bo atlakegeneva
